mixed dating

When entering the mixed dating world, you have to go in it with an open mind because the chances of you meeting a person who is religious are a lot higher than you think. Everyone is entitled to believe what they want to believe it is all about respecting their view even if they are different to your own. Let’s say you have been matched with a person who religious, here are the 6 do’s and don’ts to ensure you have a wonderful dating experience

1. Make you DO enjoy the experience

Even if you are on the dating scene looking for a soul mate, it is something that is meant to be enjoyed by both parties. Do not let their religious beliefs cloud your judgement about them. See it as a chance to meet someone different, establish a relationship if possible and a way to find out the things you want and do not want in a relationship.

2. Make sure you DO treat others the way you want to be treated

One of the major principles Christianity is known is for is to always treats others how you would want them to treat you. This should not change when you are on a date. Go into the date with patience, love and compassion whether you feel butterflies in your stomach or not. Be respectful and always thank your date for taking time out to see you and spend time with you. If it does happen that your date is responding in a negative way, forgive them and move on, there plenty of fish in the sea.

3. DON’T lie, be honest about who truly are

We all want to make a good impression on a date however, if you want things to progress further and come a happy and long lasting relationship, you have to be yourself. Do not paint yourself to be something you are not just to look good because you are living a lie. Lies do catch up to a person eventually, just be genuine about where you stand about your religious beliefs and don’t pretend you are religious just to impress your date. It can only cause pain and heartbreaks further along the line if they discover you faked your beliefs.

4. DON’T throw your beliefs to the side for your date

This point goes hand in one with the one above. Do not comprise your principles and beliefs for your date. Instead have an open discussion with them, see if you share the same beliefs or not and move on from there.

5. Make sure you DO ask for advice when you need it

Dating someone who is religious can be uncharted territory for many people and it is worth asking for advice from family, members of the church you go it and friends. You never know, they must just have the answers to some of your questions.
