Why Black Girls like dating White Guys?

When it comes to interracial dating and relationships, there are many social and economic issues that come into play, especially in America. While America has made great progress in fighting racism since the days of slavery, there is still a cultural divide and noticeable socioeconomic inequality.

In theory, skin color shouldn’t be an issue when it comes to dating because everyone is supposed to be equal. In an ideal world that would be the case, however, because of social stigma, racist ideologies, and peer and familial pressure, black girls often avoid dating outside their race in general and white men in particular.

So why do some black girls like dating white guys, and why should more consider it?

First of all, black girls like dating white guys for the same reason black girls like dating black guys; because they enjoy dating people regardless of skin color. There are good and bad people of every color, dating within your own race isn’t going to improve your odds, it just means you’re writing off millions of potentially great men because of the color of their skin.

Culture and perspective:

In America, while there is cultural overlap, there are still significant differences between life in most white and black communities. Variety is the spice of life, and - like everyone else - black girls often enjoy new and exciting experiences.

Experiencing a different culture can help you escape from a limited ideological perspective, and let you see and understand things you otherwise wouldn’t have known about. Black girls who date white guys have the opportunity join different social circles, and make different friends and connections that they otherwise would miss out on.

Education and Financial reasons:

Black people have always had it harder than white people in America. While the situation is improving, progress is slow. Black people generally, have lower socioeconomic status, are more likely to be imprisoned, don’t receive the same access to or quality of education, have a harder time finding employment and get paid less for the work they do.

Facing an uphill battle because of both their gender and race, black girls might see a path to an easier life by getting access to some of that white male privilege. With everything else being equal, why not date people from a more advantaged group?

Freedom:

Some black girls simply like to date white guys because it allows them to exercise their freedom. When your family and community places pressure for you to act in a certain way, it can be liberating to cast off those shackles and make your own decisions.
