    Drifting,drifting across distance and time
    dreaming down thru the years
will he ever realize I am his
and is he to be mine

taking time to get to know my heart
why not from the very start

I ask...did you even look , or give us a chance
Or perhaps there was never the idea inside your heart for romance

I've been this way before , knocking at the door
the door of a heart that can't seem to be sure

why is it our soul takes so long to heal ?
is it because of all the pain we come to feel
Deep pain of a wounded soul
this is how the story begins to unfold

    Release it, let it go
watch it soar for no longer wanting the pain of it anymore

    emotionally strong,
    withstanding all wrong

knowing not all makes a call
to play the game of a fool , trying to be cool
Or rather yet, is he a tortured man
thoughts of not being good enough
    holding all of this stuff

inside and not sharing his emotions
as they intensify until he can show no devotion

As he begins the journey of shutting her out
she now is angry and begins to shout

    her fear of...

A whisper she can almost hear
    in her ear

    we're moving directly towards

Unfamiliar waters as our tide of emotions intensifies

Suddenly sweeping us into a undercurrent of ....

    Unfamiliar waters

    Dedicated :
to those men that have shut down communication because of their fear of inadequacy and worth not feeling truly good enough inside to release their fear to communicate love so they can soar once more perhaps becoming eternally free from their past.Learning they can again love at last .

    Just For This Moment

    just for this moment
    I want to forget
    the opinions of others
    forget my own boundaries
standing face to face, forget my fear
    forget myself
    for just this one moment

afraid of the power I might give you
    the truth you might see
    I can avert your gaze
afraid you can see right through me
    like a glass-bottomed boat
    plunging into the depths
    of my watery emotions.

    For just this one second
Cant I take a moment to forget?
What I really want to remember?
    Making wishes based on desire
    (trust, passion, love, integrity, warmth)
    Kiss me to sleep
    Rock me to surrender
So I can understand what freedom really means
    for just this one moment

    I long to kiss you
    And finally taste you
    Breathe in your scent
    Feel your arms around me
    As I desire the warmth
I see dance in your eyes
Longing for your touch, like velvet

    For just this one moment
    I want to be lost
    Hidden within time
    As seconds slowly vibrate
Murmurs the beat of my heart
    Echoes into sounds of pulse
    ? racing
    To meet your full lips
    And laughing eyes

    For just this one second
Cant I take a moment to forget?
What I really want to remember?
    Making wishes based on desire
    (trust, passion, love, integrity, warmth)
    Rock me to surrender
    Kiss me to sleep
As I dream of this moment forever

    put your arms around me
    hold me
    give me your breath
from the depth of your soul
as I want to remember timelessness
    Just for this moment?

    Fire burns

yet I yearn to feel your fire

    Tears fall

as they wash away the pain

    Eyes see

the truth as you lay it before me

    Emotions feel

    hi Olubamni ...
I know this is a year and some months later life has happened and I have not been here for sometime as you can see by the dates. I wanted to thank you for the message you left me it was inspirational and I appreciated your taking time to critique me as well as having an inner look from one poet to another. Thanks for encouraging me to to do so much more. Yes, I believe I can and hope that it may help someone as I write from my own life experiences . God bless you ,may you also continue to inpsire and reach deeply inwardly to share outwardly with your messages of wisdom for so many search for truth in a world filled with so much untruth.

    Peace Always to your heart

    On Love
Then said Almitra, "Speak to us of Love."

And he raised his head and looked upon the people, and there fell a stillness upon them. And with a great voice he said:

When love beckons to you follow him,

Though his ways are hard and steep.

And when his wings enfold you yield to him,

Though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you.

And when he speaks to you believe in him,

Though his voice may shatter your dreams as the north wind lays waste the garden.

For even as love crowns you so shall he crucify you. Even as he is for your growth so is he for your pruning.

Even as he ascends to your height and caresses your tenderest branches that quiver in the sun,

So shall he descend to your roots and shake them in their clinging to the earth.

Like sheaves of corn he gathers you unto himself.

He threshes you to make you naked.

He sifts you to free you from your husks.

    He grinds you to whiteness.

    He kneads you until you are pliant;

And then he assigns you to his sacred fire, that you may become sacred bread for God's sacred feast.

All these things shall love do unto you that you may know the secrets of your heart, and in that knowledge become a fragment of Life's heart.

But if in your fear you would seek only love's peace and love's pleasure,

Then it is better for you that you cover your nakedness and pass out of love's threshing-floor,

Into the seasonless world where you shall laugh, but not all of your laughter, and weep, but not all of your tears.

Love gives naught but itself and takes naught but from itself.

    Love possesses not nor would it be possessed;

For love is sufficient unto love.

When you love you should not say, "God is in my heart," but rather, I am in the heart of God."

And think not you can direct the course of love, for love, if it finds you worthy, directs your course.

Love has no other desire but to fulfil itself.

    On Love

But if you love and must needs have desires, let these be your desires:

To melt and be like a running brook that sings its melody to the night.

To know the pain of too much tenderness.

    To be wounded by your own understanding of love;

And to bleed willingly and joyfully.

    To wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving;

    To rest at the noon hour and meditate love's ecstasy;

    To return home at eventide with gratitude;

And then to sleep with a prayer for the beloved in your heart and a song of praise upon your lips.

    Sky Of Thoughts

    Sunrays slanted and stroked
A lovely face to create a blush
    that can match her thoughts
A free Spirit that loves to roam
    the sky of thoughts
Not a easy thing to do in a real world
Making mountains out of mole hills
I embrace wisdom and I know that
    Roaming my sky of thoughts

    Stars in our Eyes

As I stare into your eyes
    You search deeply for why
Why as to the walls of stone
    that have set the tone
    The tone of a bell
    ringing deep inside
will I trust again or will I hide
Shall I dare take this leap
Is it possible the price again
    will be too steep
    How will I ever know
    unless I dare to go
    where others fear to tread
towards love alive a love not dead

    Wanting so much to offer
all that I am and hope to be
    Sharing truth ,love and honesty

As I stare into your eyes
    thoughts are can you embrace
    such a woman as I

A woman that can light a candle
in your heart , from the very start
    that sets off tiny sparks

This candle I speak of is a light
    shineing so bright deeply within

    Speaking to both our hearts
    as we begin
Yes I dare to look into these eyes
as I finally know and realize

The stars in both our eyes
    Promises of no foolish lies

    pain from our past
    with all its scars
    Have left us with stars

    shineing into our eyes

    Packaged Love

A touch of one's hand on your hand Kisses upon one's cheek
As his eyes look into hers ever
    so deep
He sees the stars shineing so bright Yet there is only sunlight not the darkness of the night
The glow that flows from her face
    is captured by every trace
    of his eyes as he
looks upon her beauty so deep

This beauty he sees has captivated his heart so many miles away
A butterfly on a spring day
    flying free
a bird sings up in a tree
    as he sighs...
" Her love has captured me "
    Through many a word spoken
He was sent to mend her spirit broken by so many before him
As she looks up into his eyes
she sees the love sent down from above to give her all that had been missing from that moment on as he held her
close she knew there would be no more wishing
as the sounds of the butterfly flapping his wings
and the birds began to sing
it had at last come to her
    as a...

Well,I do hope your enjoying being here and I'm not a paying member, although I signed up with the site some time ago I have only this year started being active and I'm condidering payable membership because of the restrictive

You asked about piggy backing off of the others site where poems are written and to answer honestly,I have no idea and maybe I shouldn't have been so forthcoming in placing mine but its done and I hope I didn't tread wrongly on someone elses territory,if I did I apologize. I love writing so I began to write and share and hope to share more just hope I put it where there is not a problem :))
I'm enjoying reading your posts you've bought some added brightness to the message boards keep expressing and have a great week

Very nice. Thank you for sharing Ladyj. I haven't been on this site for very long, maybe a month now, but I am so glad that I stopped by and joined in, as there is not a day that goes by in which I am blown away with the incredible people here on this site. It's simply amazing. And you certainly are a wonderful testimony to us all. Thanks again.
