PDX, WOW!!!! I could so hear the sax on that first one. The fullness of the tone mixed with the sound of the player's breath. something happened to him that day and he put a lot of it into the first he blow. Long and full, a hint of vibrato in the midle then at the end. He wonders if anyone else can hear what he's trying to comunicate. Yes I can hear this one.
The second one is so busy. There's a sound at first like someone dropped something down a flight of stairs. Its light, wood like in sound and forever cascading. There are other sounds too that I can't make out at first. It almost seems like the sounds are competing with each other, but not really. Over time the falling wood becomes a rhythm, and the competing sounds a melody. It's not very loud, but there is a busyness about it and I think it might be getting gradually louder. Still It's a lot for me to take in all at once. To hear it's song will take time and it asks if I will have paitence and give it time to fully share it's gift to me.
I need a smoke now. Ok, I don't smoke, but I do feel warm, good, and a little tingly all over. I enjoyed that very much and that's why I love songwriting.
PDXmuse even though I'm looking a bit closer to home don't ever count your self out for providing inspiration, even from afar. I read your profile and it says that you use watercolors. Is there any way I could see some of your work? I get inspiration from artwork too!
I'm a songwriter and one thing that I love doing is meeting people, especially women, who can inpire me to music. Oh I get inspired in other ways, but I have found some of my best work comes from meeting a person who has that certain spark. If you think you have what it takes let me know.
What style of music do I write? Rock, Jazz, acoustic love songs. I can't determine what comes out. I just play what I hear. I've been told that my song are very good and I paly them and sell demos all over the US.
