I think it's best that we clear up the assumptions about our relationship status before the those assumptions contribute to misperceptions about us. Being single is a choice, so I am single by choice. Circumstance is also a huge factor, but at the end of the day, I made a choice to be single because I choose not to settle for less than what I feel that I deserve from a potential partner.
