You think YOU have a hard time.  At least you're in New York!  I would imagine your pool of available people would be quite large.

I'm here in Austin, Texas.  Yes, Texas is a large state, but not necessarily known for its academia.  It's very difficult to find someone who is single and intelligent and honest and , etc.  You get the picture.
