Words To The Bridegroom

Be careful
In every woman
there is a little madness,
a residue of hatred
of the long slavery
stirring, waking in her blood

Be aware
one day at the tenderest
moment, you will hold
in your arms a stranger
Speak softly,
You have been the enemy
too long

Though it is a new time
and you are guiltless
Be patient.
Show no sign that there
is danger.
It will pass.

I have always kept my poetry so close to me....this was the first time I had ventured sharing any of my poetry with anyone other than my best friend. (on this site in general)
