Thinking of you,
brings the light of day
Into this dark room.
Alone;
I lie awaiting the sunshine
that will abate the darkness
of hours spent;
without you.
I'm sure that you're sleeping,
but maybe
you're dreaming
of me.
The phone may ring tomorrow
To bring back memories of
your voice,
Then again -
If it doesn't;
Will the sun burn itself
out of the sky
like a raging mass of mistreated
affection??
As it burns;
will it take with it
all of the hearts
taken for granted,
abused,
forgotten?
Or will they remain here
to remind us
Of what had once been?
:)

A place in my heart

(In memory of Jacqueline N. Marshall Mullins)

I reminisce about what we once shared
about all the good things and fun times that we had
I can remember staring into your beautiful brown eyes
and being hypnotized by that beautiful smile you had

There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of you
and I don't think a day will go by that I ever will
Wishing that I could at least see you just once more
to see you smile again and tell you how I truly feel

Wanting to hear you say hello, at least once more
which may not seem like much, but to me it really means a lot
just looking through some pictures that I have of you
wiping endless tears because now that's all that I've got

I miss you more and more with each passing day
a beautiful person who was as beautiful as she was smart
I could never forget you, not in a million years
holding memories of you tightly and saving you,
A place in my heart

What is sad is that I wrote many of these through my teens and early 20's.
I haven't written anything for anyone in years....but these old poems still stir in me the same thoughts and memories, scents and scenes of yesterday and as they are happy ones....WHY NOT?

Glad my shares have touched someone. Thanks for taking the time Silver to look at most of them....I really admire most of your posts on the forum. (there was only one...but I posted my two cents and am not a member so cant become an e- friend...thought it seems you have so many offers you could quit yer job! )

Great life to you and he......lucky lady. :)
