I've gotta say that I'm pretty dissapointed in Bush's bailing out of the auto industry. I'd much rather have seen them go into a reorganization with bankruptcy. Times would have been tough, but the economy would have survived and eventually bounced back.

I was hoping that the US companies would be forced to restructure and build cars that are actually worth the price tag, but I really don't see that happenning now. The cars that I've owned in the past, have been american made, but I have to say that I'll most likely be going with a foreign car on my next purchase.

I knew the American auto industry was in trouble almost two years ago when I wanted to trade my low-mileage paid for GM (Chevrolet) for a Chevrolet HHR and the dealership where I had done business for over 30 years (always purchased brand new Chevrolets), hemmed and hawed about giving me a good deal.....so, I took my business to Suzuki, who was more than happy to accommodate me, and with a better built vehicle,to boot!

I believe in supporting American workers, by purchasing American products, but it seems that all we've been doing is giving the CEO's more money to steal, while they shaft the workers and the public.
