A new American series is starting in England, can't remember the name of it. Its regarding a man who has a Mourmon lifestyle. He has three women and they each bring up his children. Made me think!! Why does society look down on me if i were to choose this lifestyle. Why do we have to stay with just 1 person? By the way, im no swinger!! hahahahahaaaa

i think society looks down because it truly has only been like 30 years or so that we took the Bible out of school, and we all know that it says a man should be the husband of one wife and we cant get to the husband if he's goin with 3 or 4 other females, i don't believe it would be love baby, that's lust!

To quote Phea44 "How is it possible to have such a union with two or more men(in the case of a woman) or two or women(in the case of a man)?" Why isnt it possible? Is there some form of barrier stopping you or some mystical force? Or is this a moral thing? ********************************************************************************
I am making a distinction from having ROMANTIC FEELINGS versus actually being in a deeply heartfelt LOVING RELATIONSHIP.
Why isn't it possible? A good question. Probably for the same reason we humans aren't capable of having two distinct thoughts simultaneously--WE WEREN'T BUILT FOR IT. But we can rush from one thought to another, however, we can only give ourselves to ONE thought at a time.
Oh, and by the way...you don't have to stay with just 1 person. These are choices that we all can make, whether it's from a moral/religious, or cultural/personal POV.

Is it REALLY possible to love more than one person(in the area of Romance)equally? I don't think so. One person or both will get short changed in the long run, and probably in the short run.
Think about it, if you will. If you are in a committed LTR, there is a great deal of nurturing and bonding going on. In truth, it's a kind of spiritual union that is being formed. How is it possible to have such a union with two or more men(in the case of a woman) or two or more women(in the case of a man)?
It's not possible, but the PLAYERS AND CHEATERS aren't trying to form LTR's. They are more interested in the CHASE and CONQUEST.

That's a very interesting and controversial topic JohnnylovesSka.
Monogamy. Looking at the animal kingdom as a whole, most animal species don't bother with it. For example, look at the male lion. He can live his entire life making out with one lioness after another while fathering children with different females, but he never develops a LTR with any one lioness. But the lower animal life doesn't have to contend with moral issues. Of course there are some people who don't contend with them either. However, there are a number of middle eastern and African cultures that believe in having multiple wives. Some people don't look down on the practice as long as it's tied to someone's culture or religious practice(s), but if you want to do it as a lifestyle change, FORGET IT!!!! Of course in North America and the U.K.(as well as other nations), there are laws against bigamy, but when it comes to monogamy, it seems more of a forced issue for many people. It's almost as if , in spite of the daily challenges to maintain a monogamous relationship, so many men and women seem to have this strange and natural inclination to see other people(or at least contemplate it)while they are currently in a relationship.
A most interesting topic indeed!!!

Actually, the Mormons who practice this part of their religion are Fundamentalists. Modern day Mormons have forgone this practice since the late 1800's. As a woman, I prefer to be with a man who wants (and isn't afraid) to committ, and have "our" family together. I don't know how those who choose this lifestyle can handle emotions for that many people (myself included!) If the shoe were on the other foot would it be cool with the majority of men for a woman to practice multiple marriage? hmmmm...

You know what's funny? We have this blog and then another titled "Are you a Ho"?. See how in one vein were puritanical and judgemental of those who sleep around and then another asking us why society thinks it's wrong. Seems like an oxymoron to me.
